New Developments In The Membership Package Welcomed

A recent survey of RAPRA Members has been undertaken to determine their views in particular on new aspects which are being introduced as part of their Membership Benefits Package. The results of the survey have been extremely encouraging and have supported many of the initiatives which are being put into place. Some highlights are as follows:

  • 73% of respondents expressed an interest in making use of RAPRA's new office in Shanghai to help them in developing their business links and opportunities in China.

  • 55% of members responding also welcomed the establishment of RAPRA's office in Ohio, providing them with a resource to help them access US markets.

  • The addition of new Approved Service Providers in complementary areas of activity was also seen as a useful addition to the Membership benefits package. 50% of UK Members were interested to learn more about the Cost Reduction consultancy now available to Members at preferential rates. The Global Trade Database now available also was of interest to 36% of Members, mainly those keen to improve their market knowledge and intelligence on an international basis. Almost 30% of Members were also interested to know more about the availability of local polymer laboratory services in China via their RAPRA Membership.

  • RAPRA is actively planning to expand its range of polymer technology service providers in Europe, the main countries of interest being France, Germany and Spain. In this respect, RAPRA is hoping to sign off an agreement with a Spanish service provider before the end of this year.

  • Finally, RAPRA's involvement in European projects dedicated to providing assistance with complying with the REACH legislation was enthusiastically welcomed. 64% of those replying supported these initiatives, which will bring access to a web-based E-learning package to Members before the end of this year and access to another REACH-based online toolkit by mid-2012.

Congratulations to our prize draw winner!

The winner of the prize draw that all respondents were entered into was Dr Volker Boerger, Schill & Seilacher Struktol AG. Dr. Boerger said he looked forward very much to redeeming the extra 10,000 Members Only Rewards (MORe) Points.
